Biography of Eddie Burchfield
My name is Edward Charles Burchfield Jr. I just go by Brother Eddie or Chaplain Eddie. I was born August 10, 1950, to Edward C. and Margaret L. Burchfield. Both of my parents were WW2 veterans. We lived in Bessemer, Alabama. I am the oldest of my sister Becky, and my brother Mike. We had a great childhood with lots of love.
I graduated from Bessemer HS in 1968. I was drafted into the Army, during Vietnam. I served two years active duty, and 7 years Army National Guard.
I married and have two children. I worked for ALDOT 32 years, in Civil Engineering, and retired in 2015.
I have been in ministry full time since my retirement, as an Evangelist, and a Chaplain with the Church of God Chaplains Commission. I was saved in 1975, was called into the ministry in 1978, as a Lay Minister. I was licensed as an Evangelist in the Church of God of Prophecy in 1985. I am an Ordained Minister with Worldwide Evangelism, and an active Chaplain with the Church of God Chaplains Commission. I have ministry in 4 different radio stations (WURL, Kool & River radio, and Piper Peach Gospel in Clanton). I do jail/prison ministry, 4 Nursing Home ministries, I am a Chaplain with the Chelsea Fire and Rescue, I am a Chaplain with the Shelby County Hospital, I am a Chaplain with the Chelsea Musuem, and I am a Chaplain with CAWGA (Central Alabama Writers Guild Alliance ), I do street ministry I call Sign Language, and have articles in magazines and papers, and I am an Author having written one book called “Words That Rhyme Worth Your Time.” I believe in being active in my Christianity. I love loving Jesus.
